Example course contents

IELTS Speaking Introduction

This lesson covers most of the  frequently asked questions surrounding the  IELTS speaking test and introduces the 3 parts of the exam.

IELTS Speaking Strategies part 1

In Part 1 (which lasts roughly 3 to 4 minutes) the examiner asks you a series of questions about your life and / or your current situation.  This lesson provides students with proven strategies to unpack and answer the questions in the best way possible to achieve maximum marks.

IELTS Speaking Strategies part 2

In Part 2 (which lasts roughly 3 to 4 minutes) the examiner will give you a card which has a topic task for you to talk about.  This lesson provides students with proven strategies to unpack and answer the questions in the best way possible to achieve maximum marks.

Expressing opinions

In the IELTS speaking test, the examiner will ask for the candidate's opinions on different topics. This lesson gives students practice in expressing their opinions using a variety of structures.

 

Cooking and eating (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about cooking in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

Describing people (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to describe people in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

 

Time fillers

In the IELTS speaking test, the examiner might ask difficult questions and the candidate may need some time to think about how to respond. This lesson gives students practice in using 'time fillers' - words and structures that allow them to buy time to think without affecting their fluency score.

 

Describing a TV show (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson  is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about TV shows in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

Describing films / movies (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson  is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about films in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

 

Using connectors

In parts 2 and 3 of the IELTS speaking test, candidates will need to speak at length about a particular issues. It is important that they develop their ideas using appropriate connecting words and phrases. This lesson gives students practice in connecting their ideas using suitable connectors and discourse markers.

This lesson is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about a special event in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

A restaurant (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson  is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about restaurant in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

 

Requesting clarification

In the IELTS speaking test, candidates are allowed to ask for clarification they you did not understand or hear something. This lesson gives students practice in requesting clarification while at the same time demonstrating a good command of English.

15. Describing a book (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson  is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about a book in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.

16. Hobbies and activities (IELTS Speaking Part 2)

This lesson  is designed to prepare IELTS candidates to talk about a hobby or activity in Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test.
